Job Title: Benefits and Entitlements Advocate
Location: Leytonstone, London with flexible hybrid working (minimum one day per week in the office) Salary: £15,885 per annum (based on full-time salary of £31,770).
Contract type: Permanent, subject to funding.
Hours: 17.5 per week (0.5 FTE)
Role Outline
The Benefit and Entitlements Advocate (BEA) is an important position within Stay Safe East. The successful candidate will work closely with our Independent Disability Domestic Violence Advocates and Independent Victims’ Advocates, supporting disabled people who have been impacted by domestic abuse, sexual violence, hate crime and other forms of crime. You will also work collaboratively with the full-time BEA.
The Benefits and Entitlements Advocate will provide support with financial empowerment, income maximisation and help with managing debt. Many of our clients experience economic abuse and it takes empathy and understanding to unpick the impacts.
You will work collaboratively with clients to carry out financial empowerment assessments; creating and delivering on action plans to meet their needs relating to income, budgeting and debt.

The ideal candidate will be someone who has worked in a small charity and understands the external environment in which we work.
